On May 20th, from 15-23 o´clock, Københavns Kunsthandel will open the biggest exhibition in many years, with the work of artist couple Else Fischer-Hansen and Egon Mathiesen.  The exhibition will feature 60 pieces, from the 1930´s till 1980´s.   Else Fischer-Hansen and Egon Mathiesen outside their home on Rebildvej   EFH’s and EM’s abstract art is very related and sometimes its hard to tell who is the artist behind. The couple worked side by side for more than 40 years and this exhibition is a chance to see paintings, drawings, prints, watercolors, a sculpture and a ceramic piece by the artists.  Most of...

Københavns Kunsthandel owner Johs Schmidt has participated in two tv programs within the last few weeks. Johs took part in two episodes of TV2 Fri´s popular program "Hvem byder bedst". alongside colleagues from lauritz.com, greensquare.com, kildevang-antik.dk and Scandinavian-antiques.dk.  The program gives the five participants the chance to buy items from private people. 10 persons and 10 items in every program makes it quite the exciting bidding battle. Københavns Kunsthandel has moved from Gammel Kongevej 167B on Frederiksberg to Sønder Boulevard 81 on Vesterbro. We loved the small and cosy rooms in the backyard on Gammel Kongevej, but when we had the chance to move to the beautiful building on Sønder Boulevard there was no doubt. A pair of beauties still together after 60 years

In 1958 Jens Urup finished his almost 10 years work restoring Sonnes fresco on the facade of Thorvaldsens Museum. That same year he returned to his own artistic production with these two beauties. On the right oil on canvas dated 58 and left a fresco with same motif dated 59. Københavns Kunsthandel is very proud to say that the pair is available in webshop at 40.000 and 25.000 dkk.
