Carl Bloch? Study of a man, oil on canvas, unsigned. 28 x 19 cm. Pinholes in corners, craquelures and a few small peelings of paint. Not mounted on stretcher and unframed.

Provenance: Painter J. U. Bredsdorff (1845-1928).

According to descendants of Bredsdorff the painting is by Carl Bloch (1834-1890), and it does have resemblance to a pencil drawing by Bloch, see last photo. The drawing is in Statens Museum for Kunsts collection.

But this academy study of a man could also be a work by J. U. Bredsdorff.
